Casa de Wallzzutti

While I have lived in amazing places with homes in Billings MT (both my childhood home and my first place!), Tucson AZ, and Ashburn VA, I am happy to have settled down in Austin, TX. While my first house in the Arboretum area of Austin was amazing, we were totally excited to move into a little 1968 rancher that was just begging for some love. Our house was built in 1968, and, since purchasing it in 2012 and subsequently gutting the heck out of it, the remodeling project just won’t stop.

Bigger isn’t always better! Our place is a mere 1865 square feet, but I think it’s home.

Below are a few random pics of Casa de Wallzutti

One thing that surprises friends when they go into the backyard is our Airstream. She was a decrepit 1968 Airstream Sovereign Land Yaught who got a new life after being featured on the show “CashPad” on CNBC.

We originally got the airstream as a venue for my husband’s hair studio. We called it the “Hairsteam,” even though we went in a completely different direction, that name stuck. Completely vintage, we gutted the Hairstream with the intent to remodel but then realized we bit off more than we could chew. It became a glorified, shiny storage shed for the next six years or so. But thanks to Jojo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, it got purdy! It has since undergone additional renovations to act as my home office/guest house where I spend many hours a day

Last one in…!

I have always wanted a pool, and finally got my salt water-filled, fiberglass pit of happiness, built by Viking / Latham Pools and purchased and installed through Aquamarine Pools of Austin. The installation was messy but surprisingly quick and smooth. We have a door to the pool from our master shower and it is rare that I don’t get to start a day without a quick dip

Getting the pool was also a perfect excuse to make my first youtube video. I don't think Scorsese or Spielberg have anything to worry about.
