Our 4-Legged Kids

Duke & Bentley

2020 - Hopefully, a very long time!

Duke and Bentley are two Yorkie brothers and litter-mates who came to us at about six months old as pandemic puppies. The last of the litter, everyone else missed out on these two dynamos of squirrel-hating joy. We adopted these ridiculously cute boys, as we heard it is often beneficial for a senior dog (Louis) to have younger pups in the house. After a week of “Oh my God, what have we done?!” Louis, Duke, and Bentley became fast friends, and Louis added good, active years to his life!

Squirrels, your reign of terror has ended!

Neighbors and co-workers on Zoom calls, I apologize for our barking little bastards!

Louis

2005 - 2021

Our pup, Louis (aka “Louis Vuitton;” aka “Louis the Lion-Hearted;” aka “Dread Pirate Louis;” aka “Cyclops”), was a 16-year-old Maltese/Yorkie mix who wholly owned his ten pounds and, for years, kicked his big brother Ollie’s, butt.

Louis lost an eye in January 2018 after Ollie got slightly rambunctious and clumsy. The Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin tried valiantly to save the eye, but Louis sported a permanent wink instead. He recovered well, got cuter, and ruled the house until the end of his days.

Louis passed peacefully on March 30, 2021, at home with his dads and new brothers, Duke and Bentley, by his side.

Louis's size was small, but his will was strong, his loyalty fierce, his cuteness insatiable, and his heart big enough to love us unconditionally.

Ollie

2006 - 2018

Ollie was a 70 lbs Pit/Lab/Vizsla mix and came to us in 2008 via the great folks at Austin Dog Rescue. From his rough beginning, he came a long way! Ollie patiently put up with his little brother Louis and was an energetic, loving, gentle goofball until his very last days. He was faithful and true to the last beat of his huge heart.

Ollie passed peacefully on August 25th, 2018, at home with his dads and brother Louis by his side. A very special thank you and call out to Compassionate Vet Care for making Ollie’s passing beautiful and pain-free.

He knew the answer all along - he was a good boy!
